the gardens
Waterlow Court was designed around a central communal garden, a quadrangle, where the residents could relax and chat. A cloistered walkway, reminiscent of an Oxbridge college, surrounds the central garden and allows access to the lower ground flats, and the stairwells that lead to the first and second-floor flats. A larger outer communal garden, that can be thought of as four separate and distinct gardens, embraces the building.
Are the gardens as good as they look?
Yes, they are. Winter, spring, summer, and autumn.
They are much loved, valued, and cherished. Ideal to sit in and to relax, read a book, snooze, chat, share a coffee or a game of croquet in the summer. Keen gardeners are always welcome because the gardens are bigger than they look, especially at the back, and need to be maintained so that they keep their beauty.
