It’ll take you thirty minutes to walk to Kenwood House, across the Heath Extension, and up-though the wooded slopes and past the Spaniards Inn, the watering hole of Dick Turpin, a short walk along Hampstead Lane that connects Hampstead with Highgate, past the entrance lodge on the north side of the estate, then past the Flamme, a sculpture by Eugène Dodeigne.

Once there, treat yourself to a coffee, or an ice-cream, or a full English breakfast, or lunch, or afternoon tea in the Brew House. Go for a stroll around the estate grounds – the lake, the woodland, the meadows, the sculptures by Henry Moore and Barbara Hepworth – or view the great masterpieces by Rembrandt, Gainsborough, and Vermeer in Kenwood House.
